AADL Adoption in the Research Community
- A number of universities and research organizations have contributed to model-based engineering and AADL.
This environment has positioned AADL as a common language for research discussion in architectural models for
embedded real-time systems. Several Ph.D. theses have been completed or are in progress.
- The SEI is leading research into fault containment, advanced processor performance, and data management.
- AADL is used as transition vehicle in government-funded technology transition programs. Two projects that
are nearing completion of Phase 2 are
- 21 CSI is leveraging AADL in the development of a toolset called Armanet. This toolset validate
requirements and evaluate designs of complex system of systems through all phases of development.
- Fremont Associates has developed tools on top of OSATE (the open source implementation of AADL)
call Furness to provide simulation capabilities for AADL. In addition, Fremont Associates has
integrated a resource scheduling analysis tool called VERSA from the real-time group of the
University of Pennsylvania.
